  2. Thesis • Teen dramas illustrate the drive in teenagers to achieve independence from their parents, only to become reliant on them yet again to achieve their own version of the American Dream.

  3. Synopsis: Deb, mother, just got out of rehab to find out that her son is not going to an amazing basketball camp. While in rehab she told Nathan that she wanted to be a family again, so Nathan decided to move back home. However, Deb wanted her and Nathan to be a family, not her, Nathan, and Dan (dad). The two decided to make a pact to stay together while escaping the evil grasp of Dan.

  4. Synopsis: Lucas was investigating Dan, trying to get something on him to land Dan in prison and figured out his tax evasion scheme. Dan busted Lucas on his snooping and ends up telling him that he is nothing to him. Lucas stands up to Dan and basically says thank you because now he can finally let Dan go; let go of his own problems with his past.

  5. Synopsis: Nathan has just finished moving back in, having a conversation with his mom about making sure Dan stays out of their lives when Haley, his wife who left him to go on tour, shows up at his doorstep. Haley basically left Nathan and this is the first time the two have seen in each other in a very long time.
