  2. Slovenská sporiteľna Foundation • Established in November 2004 as a non-profit subject founded by Slovenská sporiteľňa • Supports activities in educational, health and community resorts and charity • Most of its activities realized through programmes • Criteria for grants or financial support

  3. Education • DEVELOPMENT OF EDUCATION AT HIGH SCHOOLS IN SLOVAKIA • SUPPORT - raising of quality of training program at slovak schools • AIM – financial support of extraordinary and developing programmes and efficiency of these projects directly in educational process at high schools • APPLICATIONS – until 30. June, approvals in October

Health • FOUNDATION OF HEALTH • AIM – to reduce unpredictable and seriously health situations of employees of bank and their children, to help to cover expenses connected with expensive operations. • 2007 – possibility to get grant for buying wheelchair for employees of bank and their children.

  5. Communities • KORUNA KU KORUNE (Crown to crown) • AIM – to support local community organizations • Based on common gifts of employees of SLSP and SLSP • Applications approved in July

Protected workshops and protected housing • Extension of programme Protected workshops • For handicapped people • AIM – to support improvement of quality of life of handicapped people • Grants used for arrangement of technical conditions of working therapy , for establishment of protected housing and support of educational counselling in this area • APPLICATIONS – until 30. June, approvals in September

  7. Approved projects • VIERA n.f. Bratislava – suport of educational course for handicapped students – 150 000 SK • Miroľa – reconstruction works on interiers of wooden church (300 000 Sk) • Organisation of international event „Slovakia Open in tennis on wheelchair “(800 000 SK) • 2006 – 30 approved projects – 6 561 000 SK

Introduction • Established: 20th of December 2004 by Tatra banka a.s. • The Foundation works in the cooperation with the Centre for Philanthropy • KEY AIMS : • DEVELOPMENT of the society through improving the EDUCATION system - supporting the university education (business studies, banking, IT) • Immediate HELP for the PEOPLE IN NEED - people suffering by the calamity situations, epidemics… • Preservation of the CULTURAL HERITIGE and REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT

  12. How it works and who for? • HOW ? • financial donations are used to support projects which are unique, innovating and bring improvement and development • WHO FOR ? • 2 types of projects • 1. Open grant programmes • 2. Programmes for supporting the singularity and extraordinaries • WHO DECIDES ? Managing board of the Tatra banka Foundation

  13. ‘ We Can Help ‘ • Applicants: people suffering from calamity situations, floods, hurricanes, fire, theft, epidemic diseases • Individuals, NGOs, towns, villages, schools… • ! only if they are not self-inflected ! • is organized in the cooperation with the Slovak city and municipal association • Maximum 50.000/project (more if it approved)

Open Grant Programmes • ‘ To learn more ‘ • supporting university education in the field of business and economic studies. • Applicants: students, teachers, scholars… • Deadline for proposing projects – 1st of Oct. • Maximum 50.000 Sk/ project, 1.000 000 Sk/year • ‘Partnership in regions’ • works in cooperation with regional NGOs

Programmes for supporting the singularity and extraordinaries • APPRECIATION of the unique and successful achievements of PEOPLE working in the following FIELDS: - education: teachers, lecturers, students - development and preservation of the immaterial values: artists - environment - cultural and national heritage • Award of the Tatra banka Foundation (unique thesis, artistic acquisition) • Scholarship programmes for the post gradual students of business studies

Criterias for the final thesis: • Topics: business studies, banking, IT • Excellent opponent & consultant results • must be applicable in practice • must include case study and research using external foreign sources • excellent results during entire studies • In practice: deans of The E.U. in BA choose the best final thesis, T.B. judges projects and chooses winner • 3 categories: • 1. Best thesis (banking) 2. Best thesis (IT) 3. Extraordinary artistic benefit

Sk altogether
