  1. RDXA Club Skimmer Project General Membership Meeting November 20th2012 Paul Mackanos K2DB

  2. What is a CW Skimmer ? CW Skimmer is a software package, available from Alex Shovkoplyas, VE3NEA, at www.DXAtlas.com. Combined with your current transceiver, or with Software Defined Radio (SDR) hardware that is already available, CW Skimmer will enable operators to be aware of every CW signal that is going on across large segmantsof any band.

  3. RDXA Skimmer Project What is needed for this project is the following: • 1) A SoftRock receiver capable of tuning all of the HF CW bands. • 2) A case to hold the receiver. • 3) A registered copy of CW Skimmer from DX Atlas • 4) A computer with internet access (AWA has internet access) • 5) A decent sound card 96K and 24 bit • 6) A decent multi-band antenna • 7) A decent 13.8 volt power supply or power supply battery combo. • 8) Remote control software to control the computer, receiver, etc from a remote location.

RDXA Skimmer Project Equipment Donations for RDXA Skimmer Project: • A SoftRock receiver capable of tuning all of the HF CW bands. - Assembled and tested unit purchased and donated by Sean Logghe - KB2CKN 2) A case to hold the receiver. - purchased and donated by Dan Guyor – N2DD 3) A registered copy of CW Skimmer from DX Atlas - purchased and donated by Dave Farnsworth – WJ2O 4) A computer with internet access – Computer donated by Carey Magee- K2RNY, Computer RAM donated by Brent Hungate – KC2QLJ

RDXA Skimmer Project Equipment Donations for RDXA Skimmer Project: 5) A decent sound card 96K and 24 bit - - purchased and donated by Dan Guyor – N2DD 6) A decent multi-band antenna – AWA authorized the use of its Cushcraft R-7000 (40 -10 meter all band vertical) 7) A decent 13.8 volt power supply or power supply battery combo – donated by Lynn Bisha – W2BSN 8) Remote control software to control the computer, receiver, etc, from a remote location. - download and installed by Paul Mackanos – K2DB Technical assistance by - Larry Brightenfield – W2LB
