Ongoing Consultations Higher Power limits for licence exempt devices • This consultation seeks input on the potential effect of increasing the allowable power levels for certain licence exempt devices in some geographical areas in order to facilitate new services. • Consultation Closes : 20 Sept 2006 • Consultation available at http://www.ofcom.org.uk/consult/condocs/powerlimits/

Ongoing Consultations Wireless Telegraphy Licence Exemption – Amending the Wireless Telegraphy (Exemption) Regulations 2003 • The consultation sets out proposals to legalise the use of low power FM transmitters which can be used to connect MP3 players and other personal audio devices wirelessly to radios and in-car entertainment systems. Proposals are also set out to deregulate CB radio and allocate new spectrum for low power devices such as hearing aids and alarm systems. • Consultation Closes : 22 Sept 2006 • Consultation available at http://www.ofcom.org.uk/consult/condocs/wtexemption//

Ongoing Consultations Award of available spectrum : 10GHz, 28GHz, 32GHz and 40GHz • This consultation sets out in detail Ofcom’s proposals for the release of radio spectrum which could be used for a range of new broadband, wireless communications and broadcast services by both businesses and consumers.
