  2. B.B. King’s career started small, but grew big. B.B. Kings first national concert was on 1952 in the Howard Theater, Washington D.C.

  3. This concert started a tour thatcontinued for six months. For the next 18 months he worked for a radio station named WDIA. Robert Henry was his manager, but he was too small to handle a nationwide career.

  4. The year “53” • In 53 B.B. broke his contract and signed with a Texan named Maurice Merit. B.B. also hired a booking agent, Don Robe, who handled engagements through his own agency named “Buffalo Booking.”

  5. In 1955, B.B.’s friend Cato Walker bought a used bus for $5000. He spent another $3000 fixing up the bus which was called big Red. Big Red transported B.B. and his band while on tour. At that time B.B had 13 members in the band and a total of 18 people on the road with him.

  6. In 1985 near Dallas, Texas the bus was involved in an accident. An oil tanker entered the other side of the bridge a car swerved in front of Big Red.

  7. Big Red swerved out of the way and hit the tanker. B.B. did not know anything about the accident.

  8. B.B. was not on the bus when it crashed. B.B. king was very happy because none of the people were hurt, but he was not happy that he did not have to pay off the debt. He bought a new bus a new bus after he went out of debt.

  9. B.B.’s insurance • renamed the new bus to big B.B. finallyrenewed his insurance. B.B. red the sequel. He had big red for a long time.

  10. Break-up • B.B. king married a new wife named Sue Hall. They met in Indiana. B.B. bought a new house in Los Anglos. He lived in a rare development that is very small. B.B. was on the road so much that Sue decided to end the marriage.

  18. B.B. went along with it and then got a new girlfriend. He was glad that he came out of debt. But B.B. did mop around a lot because of the tragic ending.

  19. B.B.’s music turned into a legendary career. B.B.’s fans loved his blues music. At the time period everyone loved blues music. When he played a song, fast or slow everyone screamed.
