  1. GUIDELINES FOR PROJECT

  2. CE 6811 PROJECT WORK • A specific task of investigation • long-term educational assignment -undertaken by an individual student or a group of students

  3. Project work of students the size of which is limited to three (3 or 4) Project work – Individual Can also do the work if he/she likes. The Credit for the project 6 Evaluation Internal - 4 Reviews - 20 Marks External - 80 Marks

  4. OBJECTIVE • To help the student develop his/her ability to apply multidisciplinary concepts, tools and techniques to solve problems. • To evolve new/innovative Experimental and theoretical frame work. • OutCome - Apply for the Patent Published in the refereed Journal Apply for the Award

  5. TYPE OF THE PROJECT The Project may take any one of the following forms: • Comprehensive case study • Analysis & Design • Testing / Evaluation • Implementation (Construction / fabrication / execution / application) • Field study (empirical study with conclusions) • Evolution of any new conceptual / theoretical framework.

  6. Comprehensive study - (Large Scope ) 1. Prepare a Plan for many types of building – according to the National building Code and bye laws Examples are : Institutional, Industrial, Commercial, Hospital, Assembly, Auditorium, apartment building. 2 Town planning. Prepare a plan for a town which should comprise all the components. 3. Building damage and deterioration (Causes) 4. Methods of repair and rehabilitation in building 5. Earthquake Resistant Structures 6. Solution to Traffic Problem 7. Water Supply - System & Sources 8. Implementation of Local Train service 9. Sewage treatment Plant 10. Disposal of Solid waste

  7. Analysis & Design 11. Analysis of Framed Structures (Multistorey Buildings) (Steel & Concrete) Using Software & Manual 12 Design of Road Pavement 13 Design of water storage tanks (elevated & underground) 14 Design of Retaining wall 15 Design of Bridges 16. 18. Project Should address … • Which exact problem (Technical / Social / Commercial / Professional) does your innovation address? • Impact of your innovation ? : • Highlight any frugal (economical in use) aspect of innovation : • Unique feature of your innovation: • Status of your innovation : Idea,Prototype,Product How do you feel that your innovation/project can 'Create more value/from less material resources for More People? :

  19. Kind attention to students….. • Abstract must be of 100 words • No any Hand written in any form are not permitted . (except sign) • Before printing they should submit the soft copy for approval. • Evidence of the work with photograph
