Definitions • A pyramid is a polyhedron consisting of a single base which is a polygon, and lateral faces which are triangles that meet at a single point called the vertex. • The altitude (height) of the pyramid is the perpendicular distance from the vertex to the base. • The slant heightis the height of one of the lateral faces.
