  9. Positive Comments “I enjoyed my STAR partner and being able to reflect post-observationBeing able to see questioning/discussion in another subject different from my own” “I thought it was good to see how my students interact with other teachers” -this experience provided a sense of camaraderie/commitment to professional development and pride of being a MoHS teacher -opportunity to observe an entirely different curriculum -looking forward to next observation for further learning and growth “Having a chance to see others in a non-threatening way” “At first I thought observing teachers out of my content area wouldn’t be very useful, but I found it was easier to focus on the teacher/student behavior than the content” “Helps remind me to focus on what’s really important in helping students achieve (sometimes we get caught up in day to day grind)”

  10. Suggestions, Questions, Concerns “I’m still not comfortable with the highlighted characteristics. There are so many other items on the list that are worth of praise and lead to achievement. Why have a menu if only specials really matter?” “I think it is possible that there will not be a clear take away from these observations, or that the take away will not be obvious at that time.” “Will we be partnered with the same person for the second and third observations?” “Are we allowed to talk to the teacher before- hand to get an idea of the background of the unit prior to the lesson observed?” “Is there a way to decrease teacher anxiety for those being observed?” “I wouldn’t mind debriefing with observers—I want to know what they see…” “Consider allowing interested teachers to have conversations with teachers being observed…”
