  1. Doug Grant Acquittal in Murder Trial Last week, after five long months of testimony full of twist and turns, from testimony from God and others, to revelations about the case against Doug Grant, murder, lust and greed, this past week a Maricopa County Superior Court jury found Doug Grant guilty of first-degree manslaughter in the death of his wife, Fayenne Grant, who was thirty-five when she died. According to the verdict, he was found guilty of killing her through "willful and deliberate negligence." In this case, the jury decided that the defendant had deliberately taken a life with the intent to cause harm to another person. The verdict is the result of a two-week-long trial that lasted for one hundred and twelve hours. Doug Grant attorney, John Leopold, has already filed a motion to dismiss the verdict, claiming the prosecutor and jury are biased. The prosecutor's case rested on the testimony of the prosecution witness, David Leach. He said that Doug Grant had been depressed following the death of his wife. He also said that it was likely that he had been depressed since the time that he married his second wife, Jennifer, in 2020. Doug Grant's defense attorney, John Leopold, claimed that David Leach was not a credible witness and that the evidence of this was not presented in an accurate manner. There were many inconsistencies in the testimony given by David Leach. This was a critical mistake, Leopold said, because, if the evidence presented was correct then the evidence supports the claim of Doug Grant's guilt. If the evidence presented was wrong, then the evidence

  2. supports the claim of innocence. Therefore, it is up to the jury to make that determination. According to the testimony of both sides, there is no evidence that the prosecution presented in this case is sufficient to convict Doug Grant. There are only a couple of pieces of evidence that point to the defendant's guilt, and this evidence is not strong enough to support the charge against him. The prosecution presented a medical expert in this case, Dr. Edward T. Sperry, to testify that there was "no way" that Doug Grant could have sustained the fatal head injury sustained by his wife. without the use of a metal object. This is not a medical expert that any defense attorney would recommend to their clients. In addition, the state presented Dr. James Raine, a medical expert, to testify as an expert witness for Doug Grant in this case. This is the same doctor that the defense's primary witness, Joseph Z. Grant testified before the jury in the guilt trial. Dr. Raine concluded that, according to his medical observations, the injuries sustained to Doug Grant's head by his wife did not cause permanent damage or loss of memory. Although there is an ongoing investigation going on, the prosecutor's investigation of Doug Grant has been found to be lacking and there is no evidence to prove that he was guilty. The jury has decided that the evidence presented by the prosecution was not sufficient to prove the defendant guilty, and this jury did a good job of that.
