  2. The Vision 1 To see hundreds of local churches in the UK equipped to implement the principles behind NCD in a long-term perspective, supported in the process by their denomination/network. 2 To empower denominations to take charge of the ongoing implementation and transformation process themselves, thus multiplying the effect throughout the country in the coming years. 3 Ultimately to see multitudes of local churches grow in quality and experiencing the growth that comes “all by it self” as God gives the increase.

  3. The Method An 18-month transformation process for church teams consisting of: • 3 2-day training seminars • 2 extensive Church Profile reports • Implementation in the local church • Support of church teams through the process • Complementary reading and studying • Additional Denominational support/events

  4. Objectives • At the conclusion of the process the participating church teams will • have understood and begun to implement the principles of Natural Church Development • have guided their home church through the NCD Growth Cycle at least once (2 surveys) • are capable of continuing the NCD processes on their own • have assisted at least one other church through the NCD Growth Cycle • are capable of assisting other churches on the basis of the NCD paradigm

  5. Seminar Content • NCD Basics • The Three-Colour paradigm • NCD Growth Cycle • Growth Forces (Biotic Principles) • How to prepare for, do, and interpret a church profile • Coaching Models, Skills, Process, and Tools • Goal setting, action planning, and implementation within the NCD Paradigm

  6. Between seminars • Implementation of training content in home church as well as supporting one other church through the NCD Cycle • Trainees supported throughout the training process • Each church conducts 2 church surveys during the process. • Additional denominational networking/support

  7. The Partners Denominations and networks in the UK are invited to become partners with NCD International and NCD-UK in the Transforming Churches process. Partners are invited not just to participate or recommend the process, but rather be part of the planning from an early stage and of shaping the details of the process. NCD International will support the partners in any additional support structure they want to establish within their denomination/network for the churches participating in the process. Local independent churches, or churches from denominations that do not become partners, can join the process and participate in all aspects of it, but without the added benefit of denomination support. Please see the information page for contact details, should you have any questions, want to invite a representative of NCD to present the process to you or your group, or want to sign up for the process.

  8. The People Christian A. Schwarz is the founder and president of the Institute for Natural Church Development. His books on the theology and practice of church development have been published in 40 languages and Christian have conducted seminars all over the world. Christian will focus on the contents of NCD primarily how to apply the Three-Colour paradigm to all areas of church life. Christoph Schalk heads up the Partnership and Consultancy Network of NCD International. He has a MA in Organisational Psychology and is a certified coach and trainer from CoachNet International. He has trained coaches in more than 60 countries. Christoph will focus on coaching and being coached as well as the practical implementation of NCD in the local church Philip Walker leads Healthy Church UK who is the UK National Partner for NCD. Philip will together with the partners coordinate the process and provide the administrative structure Henrik Andersen is an International Advisor to NCD and has headed up NCD in his native Denmark and also Latvia. Henrik will support the partners in the process and participate in the overall planning

  9. Experiences Churches who have implemented the NCD principles over an extended period of time (average 31 months) have experienced the following results: • a measurable increase in quality • more manageable workloads amongst leaders and lay workers • greater proportion of conversion compared to transfer growth • an average increase of the growth rate of 51% NB! These are the average figures, not the highlights. This means any church, that seeks to implement the NCD principles can reasonably expect similar results.
