  3. Galatians Purpose for writing: Pastoral concerns A). Counter false teaching (1:7, 4:17, 5:10, 5:7, and 5:12) 1). The requirements for joining the people of God - circumcision 2). The validity of the Torah in the church a). Continued favor and purity

  4. Galatians *In effect, they wanted to preserve fully the Jewishness of the new Christian movement and keep it firmly anchored within Judaism. Even accepted Christ and His work *Acts 21:20 – thought to be spreading apostasy

It is now the liberty in Christ and the Spirit born in us that leads us and conforms us to be more like Christ (Jer. 31) 3).
