  1. Ovulation By Erin,Lucie,Sarah,Ciarra

  2. What is Ovulation • Ovulation is part of the menstrual cycle when an egg is released from the ovaries. Inside the ovaries are thousands of follicles. They all start to grow sending cells out to tell the uterus to thicken for pregnancy. They all stop except for one which keeps growing and pushes its way out of the ovaries down the fallopian tube and into the uterus. If the egg is not fertilized the egg dissolves and sheds along with the uterus lining (menstruation cycle).

  3. Where does Ovulation Happen • Ovulation happens in the woman starting in the ovaries. The eggs grow there until pushed out passing down the fallopian tube and staying in the uterus. If the egg doesn’t get fertilized it dissolves and gets shed out the vagina.

  4. More Information • Good and bad stress can cause ovulation • Being sick, moving, taking a trip any change can cause ovulation. • This hormones are released before ovulation follicle-stimulation hormone, leutenizing hormone, and estrogen. • A little bit of blood can be released when the egg pops out of the ovaries • Two eggs can come out in the same cycle but it is rare one can come out 24 hours after the first one. • An egg is released from the ovaries once a month (the menstrual cycle). The egg will live a short 12 to 24 hours after it is released. That is the time frame for the sperm to meet the egg. • The lueteal phase is the time from ovulation to menstruation it should be 10 days long.
