  3. Three MST Lessons Power ! Power! We need more power! What is energy? How is energy transferred? Scavenger hunt/ Web 2.0 resource Pet Skill-Mathematical Representation All Hail the Sun! What is our primary source of energy and light? Could we survive without the sun? One graphic organizer/teachertube tutorial Me and my Shadow! Why is my shadow always changing on me? Pet Manipulative Skill (Task 2) Mathematical Representation

  5. Power! Power! We Need More Power! Scavenger Hunt /Web 2.0 • http://lightenergyandcolor.wikispaces.com/

  6. Graphic OrganizerAll Hail the Sun! • How do we use the sun’s energy? Rationale: Students will be able to graphically illustrate what they have learned about the sun. Rather than write or draw their findings, they will use the kidspiration website to report their findings. • http://www.teachertube.com/viewVideo.php?video_id=98164

  7. All Hail the Sun! Ths sun is the earth’s closest star. The sun is 93 million miles away from the earth. Sun Facts The sun is a light source. Plants need the sun to get energy through photosynthesis. The sun is a major part of our food cycle. We need light to be able to see.

  8. Mathematical Representation • Me and My Shadow! My shadow by Robert Louis Stevenson I have a little shadow that goes in and out with me,And what can be the use of him is more than I can see.He is very, very like me from the heels up to the head; And I see him jump before me, when I jump into my bed. The funniest thing about him is the way he likes to grow--Not at all like proper children, which is always very slow; For he sometimes shoots up taller like an India-rubber ball,And he sometimes goes so little that there's none of him at all. He hasn't got a notion of how children ought to play,And can only make a fool of me in every sort of way.He stays so close behind me, he's a coward you can see;I'd think shame to stick to nursie as that shadow sticks to me! One morning, very early, before the Sun was up,I rose and found the shining dew on every buttercup; But my lazy little shadow, like an arrant sleepy-head,Had stayed at home behind me and was fast asleep in bed.

  9. Graphing Me and My Partner's Shadow

  10. Roy G. Biv Roy G. Biv is an Odd name for a fellow. But what his name means is: Red, Orange, Yellow The G is for Green Which as you may know Comes right in the middle Of every rainbow. Next: Blue and Indigo More pale than dark Then V for violet-- And that completes the arc! Sunlight, Rainbow Bright! The many colors of sunlight.

  13. Filamentality website Rationale: The website was designed to provide an internet safe and instructional way for students to be able to use the technological highway to retrieve information. The site provides students with approved, accepted references for their research. It also provides varied opportunities for students of all perceptual modalities to be engaged as they learn about the topic of light, energy and color. • www.kn.att.com/wired/fil/pages/listlightenfl.html
