Central Islip’s NEED for Improvement • Designated a District in Need of Improvement • Middle School designated a School in Need of Improvement • Middle School English Language Arts assessment scores abysmally low. • Therefore: • Comprehensive District Improvement Plan necessary to help rectify problems. • Task Force assembled to implement Improvement Action Plan. Embracing Change
