  3. Essential Conviction 1: • Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (The Gospel of John 14.6) • Christianity is the only true religion

  4. Essential Conviction 2: • [Pilate] took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, "I am innocent of the blood of this just person. You see to it." Then answered all the people and said, "His blood be on us, and on our children!” (The Gospel of Matthew 27:24-25, a.k.a. The Blood Curse.) • “Christ is the end of the [Jewish] Law” (Paul’s Letter to the Romans 10.4) • Christianity supersedes Judaism, Jews are Christ-killers.

  6. Consequences: • Suppression of local religions and unorthodox Christianity. • A history of witch-hunts, Inquisition and long, bloody Protestant-Catholic persecutions and wars. • Inquisition • Witchhunts • Huguenots

  7. Consequences: • Suppression of local religions worldwide by the Imperial powers. • Christianizing of America, Africa, Australia and Asia. • Native Cults

  8. Problems: • “You shall not lie with a man as with a woman: it is abomination… If a man lie with a man, as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.” (Leviticus 18.22; 20.13) • Homosexuality

  9. Problems • “A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet.” (1 Timothy 2:11-12) • Women Bishops
