AIP Reauthorization On December 12, 2003, the President of the United States of America signed H.R. 2115 (FAA Vision 100 – Century of Aviation Reauthorization Act), Public Law No. 108-176, making Micronesian airports eligible for Airport Improvement Program (AIP) discretionary funds FY2004 TO FY2007.

  3. AIP PRIORITY RANKING SYSTEM • Safety (FAR Part 139 & ICAO Annex 14) • Reconstruction (Airfield Pavements) • Standards (Design Criteria) • Capacity (Parallel TXY, RWY, etc).

  4. FAA AIP PRIORITY PROJECTS • Safety - ARFF • Reconstruction - RUNWAYS

  5. ARFF VEHICLES • ARFF Vehicles & Equipment for all Micronesian airports to meet equivalent FAR Part 139 • AIP Grants issued FY2004 • CPA assisting in bulk procurement • Same vehicles throughout Micronesia • Specs Advertised April/May 2005

  6. NEW ARFF BUILDINGS • ARFF Buildings at all Micronesian airports to house new ARFF Vehicles • AIP Grants FY2005 • AE contracts awarded - Palau, FSM • Relocate SAWRS to ARFF Building

  7. RUNWAY REHABILITATION PROJECTS • Rehabilitate Runways at Palau, Pohnpei, Majuro (includes Marking, Lighting, Signage)

  8. PALAU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT • ARFF Vehicles & Building (SAWRS) • Rehabilitate RWY 9/27, Apron, TXY • Loading Bridges • Airport Master Plan • Perimeter Fencing

  9. PALAU RUNWAY PROJECT • Quick Fix (seal coat) within few months • Est. Cost - $15 million (overlay) • Plans & Specs 90% Complete • Est. Bid Opening – July 2005 • Est. Construction – September 2005 • Est. Completion – April 2006
