    2. Simple Sentence Contains a subject and a verb Only has one independent clause and no subordinate clause They can have more than one subject and/or more than one verb

    3. Example A good rain will help the farmers. Subject is the rain Verb is will help Where are my keys? Subject is the keys Verb is are

    4. These are not simple sentences because they contain a subordinate clause If I go shopping after school, I will get the new Twilight book. She will help her grandmother because she is trying to earn money.

    5. Partners: Identify the subject and verb in each simple sentence. My favorite escape from city life is the green world of Central Park in New York City. The enormous size of the park, however, can sometimes be a problem. I also watch birds and often wander around the park. Near Heckscher Playground, the birds tired of the game and flew off.

It tells location!!
