Principles and Accomplishments KEY PRINCIPLES: • Employer-led and focused • Used labor market data and employer surveys to identify top growing occupations and develop career pathway diagrams • Developed competency model to identify competencies critical to employers • Developed Evidence Based Hiring Model to inform training and service providers about skills/certifications desired by employers

Principles and Accomplishments KEY PRINCIPLES: Use of national best practice models • Adopted National Career Readiness Certificate and MSSC Certified Production Technician Certification programs, investigating NIMS certifications • Investigating accelerating training models to meet immediate labor needs, e.g., Right Skills Now for machining skills • Learning and reapplying from best practice sites for outreach and training of school students – Columbus Indiana, Dream It Do It

Economics Annual economic impact for each manufacturing jobs in Northern Kentucky is $205,800 in addition to annual state and local taxes of $14,250.  • With the current 680 open positions, there is up to $140 million in economic impact and $9.7 million in state and local taxes. • With the 6,250 positions required over the next 10 years, there is up to $1.3 billion in economic impact and $89 million in state and local taxes. Provided by the Office of Research and Public Affairs through the Cabinet for Economic Development.

Funding for Training • Funding provided by Partners in 2012: • NCRCs for 1200 people via 7 providers = $73,000 • MSSC CPTs for 100 people via 5 providers = $186,000 • Employer training program support = $120,000 • Funding Available in 2013: • NCRCs for 500 people = $35,000 • MSSC CPTs for adults and HS students = $100,000 • Employer training program support = $40,000 • Apprenticeships in HS demo project = $10,000
