May This week we are learning about… MATH- Kathy Richardson Assessment, Calendar, Addition, Subtraction Review: Counting to 100, counting by 2’s, 5’s, 10’s LANGUAGE ARTS ELI Assessment poetry, syllables, rhyming, fluency, beginning sounds Letter of the Week: all Handwriting: Sight Words Reading: Fairytales, Insects, and plants Review Sight Words: put, friend, it, be, where, get, at, your, when, that, say, look, go, hot, good, have, read, any, did, or, too,if, this, can’t, keep, on, away, ran, ride, find, help, there, work, let, said, house, come, no, in, jump, us, what, see, call, my, will, am, make, pretty, funny, he, she (days of the week), today, cold, now, who, about, an, yes, Friday SOCIAL STUDIES AND SCIENCE Insects and plants Dear Parents, Thank you so much for making me feel so appreciated last week! It was truly a blessing to me to receive all of the students drawings and nice words! -Mrs. Jones Field Day Please let me know ASAP if your child needs to buy a sack lunch from the cafeteria. Everyone needs to bring a sack lunch unless they are ordering a sack lunch from the cafeteria. We will be eating in the classroom at 10:30. Don’t forget to bring $1.00 for PTA snow cones, wear bug spray, sunscreen and your field day shirt. Please don’t wear any sandals for field day. Please also bring a labeled bottled water, extra clothes, extra shoes, and a towel (the students will get wet). Field day will begin at 8:15 and will conclude for kindergarten at 10:30. If you are joining our class for field day please meet us on the basketball court for field day orientation. If you are planning on joining us please let me know if you would be willing to help me with small duties such as taking students to the restroom. If you would like to let our class borrow your rolling ice chest it would be greatly appreciated. We don’t need ice, but the students will need a place to store their water bottles. Please let me know. • Reminder: • Remember to update your child’s lunch account. Students will not be allowed to charge, so if there balance is $0.00 they will receive a cheese sandwich and a white milk. • Please send all guided reading books. I will not send any new books home due to ELI/Kathy Richardson Testing and end of the year inventory.
