  1. Cincinnati State Technical and Community College College Credit Plus 2018-2019

  2. What is College Credit Plus? • College Credit Plus provides an opportunity for qualified high school students to take college courses and earn college credit, at no cost, while still enrolled in high school. • College courses result in both transcripted college credit and high school credit toward graduation. • Upon graduation, CCP students can continue their education at Cincinnati State or transfer their college credit to another Ohio college or university.

  3. College Credit Plus Benefits • Many courses available on campus or online • Opportunities to bring courses to the high school • Earn a year’s worth of credit at Cincinnati State prior to graduation from high school • Engage with college professors • Access to college courses not available in your high school • Access to college resources (library, tutoring, activities)

  4. Risks • Grades matter - Grades received through CCP are reflected twice – on college and high school transcripts. On both transcripts grades will affect respective GPAs. Low grades can negatively impact potential college admissions and financial aid opportunities. • The grade earned in the college course remains a part of a permanent academic record at the college • College transfer credits earned through CCP are generally accepted by most major institutions. However, credits are not always guaranteed for transfer toward private or out-of-state institutions. Students should check with institutions of interest regarding transfer prior to CCP enrollment. • Students taking CCP courses on campus are responsible for arranging transportation. • Students can be liable for tuition/fees • The college schedule will be followed when enrolled in college courses on campus or online. • Academic content may be deemed more appropriate for a mature student audience.

  5. Course Enrollment Limitations • The maximum number of CCP credits a student may earn in an academic year is 30 semester credit hours & is calculated as a combination of high school and college credit hours. • The maximum number of CCP credits a student may earn over the course of their participation in the program is 120 semester credit hours. • School district CCP representative is responsible for monitoring the maximum credit threshold.
