  2. Work in groups • Share ideas! Make diagrams and pictures! • For each problem: • State the problem in your own words. • Is it a tricky problem? Why/why not? • How many solutions are there? • Which one is the best?

  4. Drying towels • 3 volunteers • 3 “towels” • Three friends went to splash in a pool, and took their bath towels with them. It takes 10 min for a towel to dry. How long will it take for 3 towels?

  5. Weighting cats • It is known that two kittens weight less than their cat mom. Do three kittens weight more than their mom?

  6. Nim game ( play with a partner) • A fairy-tale prince wants to save a princess from a dragon. The dragon suggests a game. If the prince wins the game, the princess may go. If not, the princess stays with dragon forever. • ( Try this with 12 counters at home!) • Two players take turns crossing off 1, 2, or 3 circles.
