  1. LifeA Poetry Archive by Robert Button

  2. Equilibrium Long before these crowded streets stood A world without need just Equilibrium. Now progress takes away what Forever years took to find and we still Believe by planting our seed and succumbing to Our gluttony we judge these trees as our kind but You cannot take away the land of this Birth and The beginning of our lives and let Our greedy knives dig through this Land this world is not our sieve these Holes we cannot own but Frown due to our fate that one day will Send us home.

  3. A bullet always tells The truth of Whether or not we should live or Die and deal with the anguishes that Direct our dismal lives. Losing a loved One Is one that some cannot Endure but The pain we face is one We must clinch allowing our Eyes to flinch with Dread, and loathing, and regret, and hate and We soon realize that our fate is one Not controlled by the things we do But what we don’t. Hurt“I am taking the coward’s way out as I do not feel that I can heal the hurt that I have created”Henry O. Button II

  4. We enter the small seed in a city Sized apple where you lived With your family and we rest On the bed where your body falls in A cloud of a casual disaster Out the window skyscrapers obscure, stand fast Where your eyes provide a glimmer Of light to that murky passageway where Our lives saunter sluggishly And the seed not so Small And the apple not so Large And the hustle dies And everything is hushed as Your body draws to mine 2:19 A minute’s time 2:19(Revised)

  5. A Road to Nowhere If you want to get to Plainfield Take a left on 120 from 89 South. Travel past the Japanese Steakhouse Beyond the last civilization. Where they still play baseball games by the landfill, Ages one to 92 And the landfill dug up for no reason. Take a drawn-out turn at the corner of the KUA Sign and the ripped down street post, Past the despair of no return where You realize it’s a long time before you see her again, Past the windless trees waiting For a gust and leaves to grow and Beyond your previous life Into anew. Crank the music, Roll the window, and light another cigarette. Imagine the next drive Out. If you want to get to Plainfield, Think of… Think of… Think of Hope…

  6. I sit in this chair this Song on loop of a time When my mind was Wandering with a dull pace Confusion is bliss when you Finally become numb to all of This This chaos this Heartache this Pain. This time in my life Senses leave my side Overwhelmed by the flames of a Casual fiasco when I Finally lose my sight. But my eyes take focus My life takes a turn Am I who I was before this mild Curve that sent me Toppling, turning… No I am the result. The Result

  7. The waves caress this boat with Ease and wonder Curiosity of life of What lies ahead The sun the sweetest flower Flowing lukewarm rays deep into My soul a place that Has not been touched in what feels like Ages. Clouds disappear, vanish into air The sun and I the only one Who lays in this lake No land in sight but still afloat. The calm after a storm puts my World to rest and now it is time to Keep pushing to Go in and find our way out to be with you. On this boat my hand in yours and The sun is only ours with A breeze to cool us from a time so blistering so Searing the seagulls cannot stand. So here we sit and here we Reside until Another storm strolls our Way and gathers the tide. The Tides

  8. One-hundred twenty five yards away Seems a mile for the wedge and inches for the 9 iron The glare of sun off the water gleams into my face and All I can see is the gunmetal shaft of my Experienced club basking in the sun. My pupils take their shape and Into view arrives a translucent pin swaying In the wind, Waiting. Patience. Feel the club control your body an extension Of your arms the Annex to your soul, I See it clearly and My mind goes blank this void in my head Is a peaceful perfection. The club runs through my arms into my core only where Such a connection can take form then the glare Fades away the strain runs Awry and I, The club, Only see one way One lane, one Faultless swing the ping from my clubface striking this ball with such Grace Take it slow back, turn the hips Body in unison and not one limb slips The tuning fork tingles my loins and Down through the club swings, Snapping through with my groin. The follow through, the art the One region where it all seemed to have started when my Mind returns to the ball in flight my Heart letting go believing in this shot “I hit this damn ball with everything I’ve got” Pure off the club there’s no sweeter feel I Follow it with my eyes and am instilled with fear so my Hands lie in the ball with it’s true flight my Soul took this vacation with this never ending Recreation and… I stand next to the ball A part of myself If golf isn’t heaven I’d make my way to hell.
