KEY DATES • August 27 – Fall Manager Meeting • August 28 – MYSA Presentation and schedules available • September 6 – Fall MYSA League games start • September 11 – Fall MYSA Reschedule Deadline • September 25 – Fall MYSA State Tournament Deadline • October 5 – U11-U14 MYSA Fall League play must end • October 6 – MYSA League Score reporting deadline • October 11-12 – MYSA Fall State Tournament • October 12 – U9/10 MYSA Fall League play ends • October 13 – U9/10 MYSA Fall League Scores Due

  4. Manager role…. • Administratively supports the coaching staff so that they can focus their energy on the field and players • Serves as a liaison between your team and the club • Portrays a positive image of your team and MPB

Manager Requirements • Fall Fall Soccer • Background check – Must be redone even if you did in Summer • Every 3 years • Complete Concussion Training • http://www.cdc.gov/concussion/HeadsUp/online_training.html • Complete the concussion registration on the MPB Coaches webpage • http://www.maplebrooksoccer.com/page/show/282347-coaches • Many coaches and managers will need to redo this for 2014-15

Team communication • Email Distribution list • Text Distribution list for last minute changes • players and parents • Cell phone – have all contacts in your phone • Team Webpage • Access is given to all managers thru your NGIN account. • Keep calendar up to date!!! • Post game schedule • List coaches and manager • Upload team documents • Discuss with coach preference for missed practice/game communication

MYSA (Minnesota Youth Soccer Assoc.) http://www.mnyouthsoccer.org • Administers youth soccer program, passes, leagues, etc. • Fall league games are played on Saturday and Sunday • Secondary insurance for all with MYSA passes (coach, player, referee. etc). • Contact club administrator if an injury occurs during game, practice to determine coverage • Travel permit…required to play out of state • Enables liability insurance on travel and while out of state • $25 for season if requested 30 days prior to travel • $75 if requested less than 30 days and good for one trip only

Volunteer Program Guidelines • Requirements • 6 hours per family of all Summer U9-U17 players • No hours requirement for Fall only players Each FALL team receives the following Volunteer hours • One Manager – 6 hours • One Coach – 6 hours • One Assistant Coach – 6 hours • No volunteer hours are given in Fall to shared positions.

Player Paperwork MYSA Medical liability release form • http://assets.ngin.com/attachments/document/0033/9172/medrelease.pdf • Required for ALL MPB players regardless of league or age • Complete each soccer year: Begins August 1 • Fall 2014 form can be carried over to Summer 2015 • Needs to be notarized if traveling out of state

Home Game Rescheduling • PROCESS • Determine three (3) alternate dates with the away team. • Email Field Coordinator, using the template that appears when you click the link on the manager webpage of MPB website. • Field Coordinator will confirm back to you within 48 hours. • Reconfirm date with with the away coach/manager • Once the away team accepts the new date and field, MPB Coach/Manager must go to MYSA’s website to complete the online reschedule form instructions • Note: You will need your user name and password that was given at the completion of the online MYSA rep presentation. • Away games are rescheduled by away team All games must be rescheduled by September 11. Only other reschedules allowed will be acts of God.

Home Game Rescheduling Why 3 alternate dates? • The Field Coordinator needs to fit your reschedule between games that are already scheduled, and with consideration to referee availability.  Providing more options ensures your reschedule can be completed as efficiently as possible. Can I request a specific time for my reschedule? • You can request it, but it is not likely the request can be honored.    Reschedules need to be scheduled with consideration to both field & referee availability.  How do I reschedule an AWAY game? • MPB Field Coordinator only reschedules MPB HOME games.  Please contact the coach/manager of the away team and they will facilitate the reschedule with their club contacts.

  12. Game Reporting • All teams must report game scores via MYSA website • MYSA Fall 2014 Game reporting deadline • October 6 U11-U14 • October 13 U9 –U10 • Any games not reported incur a fine to both teams

  13. Outdoor Practice Space • Green Space • MGSH and OSH are used by the High School teams • Game fields: Please limit use. To avoid damage to fields.

  14. Fall Club Provided Training Club Provided Training for Fall is provided once per week during the month of September at the Maple Grove Senior High turf field.

  15. MPB Fall Uniform Kit • Same kit as summer • All new fall players should have received information from Planet Soccer. • Questions regarding Uniforms contact MPB Assistant General Manager

MYSA Online Fall Presentation • Team Code and passsword • needed for: rescheduling/game reporting/registering for playoffs • Tentative Game Schedule • post to team website – Both on calendar and upload schedule • All changes need to be made by September 11 • Field Directions • Verify with final game schedule, field listed on info received will only be those you play on. This can change with reschedule. All field locations are posted on MYSA website.

  18. Bring to game checklist • Player/Coaches passes • Competitive Match Report, with stamped self addressed envelope for home games. (Required and mandatory.) • 4 corner flags (home games) • Ejected Participant form (pink card – U11 and older) • First aid kit, ice packs • Emergency contact information • Medical liability forms • Discuss with coach who is responsible for bringing items

  19. Player/Coach Pass • Collect 1 X 1in photo of every player, coach and manager for pass. Glue to labeled area on pass. • Get a signature of every player, manager and coach on the back of the pass. Signature must match name on pass • Laminate each pass • Put pass together in alphabetical order (by last names) in a ring.

Plus player jersey numbers

After the Game • Collect all items brought to field • Coach and Player Passes • If you forget (referee does not return) • Home games – Contact Field/Referee Assignor as soon as you know you do not have them • Away games – contact opposing team, they can help you track down referee. • Corner Flags • Report Game score on MYSA website • Instructions received at District Meeting • First team to enter score does reporting • Referee Feedback – included in game reporting

MYSA Weather Policy • If lightning is within five miles, with or without hearing thunder, the game(s) or practice(s) should be suspended and shelter sought.  (A rough guideline is to measure the time between the lightning flash and hearing the corresponding thunder. If it is 30 seconds or less, seek shelter.) • Games are to be adjusted as the heat index rises: • Mandatory water breaks • Go to quarters • Shorten the games • In cold weather, players should be allowed to dress in appropriate clothing. • MYSA Weather Policy: http://www.mnyouthsoccer.org/page/show/692946-mysa-weather-policy

Field Closures • Field closures are determined by the home team/City • MPB Field closures/weather cancellations can be found at the following link after 4PM on weekdays. • http://www.maplebrooksoccer.com/page/show/282362-weather-status • Contact opposing team if our fields are closed • If no field closure or weather cancellation both teams must be at the field or game will be forfeited. • Home games cancelled for weather/field closure? Home team must reschedule with field assignor
