  1. Read Joshua Chapter 12 These are the kings of the land whom the Israelites had defeated and whose territory they took over east of the Jordan, from the Arnon Gorge to Mount Hermon, including all the eastern side of the Arabah…These are the kings of the land that Joshua and the Israelites conquered on the west side of the Jordan… ~ Joshua 12:1, 7 ~

  2. Why Israel? Why Us? It is not because of your righteousness or your integrity that you are going in to take possession of their land; but on account of the wickedness of these nations, the Lord your God will drive them out before you, to accomplish what he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Understand, then, that it is not because of your righteousness that the Lord your God is giving you this good land to possess, for you are a stiff-necked people.~ Deut 9:5-6

  3. The ‘Chosen = Good’ Myth: Least of the apostles – 1 Cor 15:9 Least of all God’s people – Eph 3:8 Worst of sinners ~ 1 Tim 1:15-16 “God picked us because we were good.”

  4. Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life. ~ 1 Tim 1:15-16 ~

  5. Therefore… 1 The LORD said to Moses, 2 "Speak to the Israelites and say to them: 'I am the LORD your God. 3 You must not do as they do in Egypt, where you used to live, and you must not do as they do in the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you. Do not follow their practices.” ~ Lev 18:1-3

  6. Thought #1: Proverbs 22:24, 25 1 Corinthians 15:33 Matthew 5:29, 30 We must destroy any evil that comes close enough to hurt us

  7. Thought #2: 1 Thess 5:19 Ephesians 5:18 Ephesians 4:30 Having eliminated the threat, we must replace it with good
