  1. LSWT# MOST StatusJ-F FRONTON / CNESVenice 29-30 March 2009

  2. MOST Status • MOST Version: 6.1.0 • MOST 6.1.0 new functionalities • MOST on going development • MOST evolutions • MOST use

  3. MOST Status • MOST Version: 6.1.0 • Installed in February 2009 • Version validated • The version include simulation of energy generation and consumption • MOST 6.1.0 new functionalities • Improved energy simulation (3 sources with # models) • Primary & secondary batteries simulation • Solar panel simulations: different files depending on distance to Sun, Lander site and attitude • DC/DC converters simulation • Activity scheduling with energy profile optimization

  4. Instrument DC / DC Battery 2W 3.3 W 4.5 W MOST 6.1.0 • MOST new functionalities • Improved energy simulation • DC/DC converter average efficiency defined for HPC & LPC and line by line (ex: 60%) • Primary & Secondary batteries with “efficiency” calculated in relation to current, temperature (fixed value) • Solar panel used alone or in parallel to battery (secondary)

  5. MOST Status / on-going work • MOST New development • Simulation of CDMS main lines • Differentiation between Instruments & Sub-systems • Under development with delivery in October 2009 • CMDS evolutions • Differentiation between Instruments & Sub-systems • CDMS activity simulation / data transfer management • Data transfer simulation (rules, rates, MM allocation) • MOST define the adapted data transfer strategy:- Out of visibility: transfer from IM to MM- Visibility Orbiter / Lander: - if data in MM then IM to MM - MM empty then IM to Orbiter

  6. MOST Status / on-going work • CMDS Data rates • CDMS status • Number of instruments ON • Instrument priority • Transfer rate to MM or Orbiter • Transfer rate to MM simultaneous to MM to orbiter transfer • Period of application of this context • Data transfer interruption during backup of MM RAM in EEPROM

  7. MOST Status / on-going work • Mass Memory management • MM size dedicated to each instrument • Or no MM allocation to instrument • Period of application of this context • Different MM / data rate context can be used sequentially during an activity simulation (ex: SDL)

  8. MOST Status / on-going work • Transfer from Instrument to MM or Orbiter • Data destination no more predefined at instrument level but defined by MOST in view of :- Orbiter /Lander visibility- Status of MM • If allocated MM space filed up authorizing lost or no lost of data from IM • 2 Strategies of data transfer: all data available in IM or finite amount of data

  9. MOST Status / Studies • Expected future development • Thermal simulation necessary for better energy simulation:- critical as batteries “efficiency” depends of temperature- batteries max temperature not to be exceeded- definition of batteries initial temperature (SDL) • DC/DC converters simulation (electrical & thermal model)
