  1. Low Threshold Video Conferencing A simpler way to inclusion Donald.Ropes@inholland.nl

  2. Introduction • What is inclusion? • How can VC help? • What we are going to do. • Who we are doing it for. • Setting up an LTVS (Low Threshold Video Session) Donald.Ropes@inholland.nl

  3. What is inclusion? Two reasons for VC; inclusion and improvement of the learning process. Inclusion is helping disabled students be more a part of the educational process. Donald.Ropes@inholland.nl

  4. How VC can help • Teaching is more than pointing out text on a computer screen (and not everyone can read that well.) • Learning is linked to motivation and F2F contact is a motivating factor in distance education • Students feel more a part of the group Donald.Ropes@inholland.nl

  5. What we did (and who we did it for) • Developed a training video that gives teachers insight into how a LTVS can be set up. • Practical advice (“where to put the camera”) • Given in an approachable manner (video on YouTube) • Simple technologies (web cams and Breeze) • A tested product (we experimented with it first) Donald.Ropes@inholland.nl

  6. What are the desired end results of the training video? • Teachers can easily set up a LTVS for students not able to be present in the lectures. • Students will be able to watch a lecture and interact with classmates. • Click here to see the training video Donald.Ropes@inholland.nl
