  1. HCPSS Family Portal Empowering Parents as Partners in Education

  2. Obtain a Username & Password In order to access the HCPSS Family Portal for the first time, you will first need to verify your identity and the identity of the students for whom you will have access. 1. Open a Web browser window and enter: http://www.hcpss.org

  3. 2. Click HCPSS Family Portal found in the right column. 3. Click Parent/Guardian Account Activation.

  4. Step 1: Gather Data You must have the following information available before you can create an account: • The Account Authorization Key you received in the mail • The Student ID and birth date for each of your children • A current email address NOTE: The Student ID can be found on the child’s schedule or report cards.

  5. Step 2: Agree to the Terms of Use Enter the words as shown and then click “I agree”

  6. Click the “Here” link when you are ready to proceed to Step 2.

  7. Step 3:Agree to the Terms of Use Enter the 12-digit authorization key that you received in the mail and click Submit Query.

  8. Step 4:Agree to the Terms of Use • Enter the student’s Student ID number and Date of Birth. • Click Next to enter data for additional students or continue to the next step. • Continue until data is entered for all students listed in the left column.

  9. Step 5: Create a Usernameand Password • Enter and confirm your email address. • NOTE: If you are an HCPSS employee, use a personal email address, not your HCPSS email address. • Enter and confirm your password. • NOTE: Your password must be at least 8 characters in length. • Click Submit.

  10. You will receive an email with instructions for logging into the HCPSS Family Portal.
