  1. Substitute Teacher Handbook For (Teacher Name) Classes 2014-15 New Underwood Schools

  2. General Instructions • Please fill out Substitute Teachers Report at the end of each day. They are located in the front of this binder ahead of the tabbed pages. • You should find all the instructions you need in this binder and the Lessons Plan are located ______________________. • Don’t forget to take attendance for each class. The class rosters will be attached to each class period instructions in this binder. Call the office with attendance: Dial 11. • If you have computer or printer problems, call Durrell at extension 42 • An entry in the student planner must be filled out for each student leaving the class. (restroom and drink breaks get abused so use your discretion) The rule is “no planner no break”. • If there are any serious problems that you need help with, use the phone and dial 11 for the Jenn in the office.

  3. General Instructions • Lesson Plans for each day of the week are located on the podium on the desk. • For periods 1, 3, 4 and 8 take attendance right away (if you like, you could use one of the seating charts in this binder. Call Jennin the office (ext 11) with absences and tardies; also give her the number of students in 1stperoid who will be eating lunch at school. • Period 2 is my Prep period----This would be a great time to review what will be needed for periods 3 and 4. • 5th period is a work period for me to update the website, work on sports programs, etc. (No students but sometimes students will need to use the computer lab) • Periods 6 & 7 are for the Elementary grades. Please refer to that section in this binder. Don’t mind the bells but really watch the time. • 3rd grade and above should use proper keyboarding posture. That is all you really need to say and they know what that means. For Grades K-2, I expect that they use right hand / left hand on the keyboard (meaning right hand keys and left hand keys)

  4. Special Class Instructions by Period Period 1 – “Class Title): Have Hope Rucker and/or Sierra Oberlander demonstrate how to create a “Voki” They told me they have used them in the past and the other students have not. These are very useful and a lot of fun. They must have or need to create an Voki account and should use their school email address: @k12.sd.us for there account. Period 2 – “Class Title: They are already grouped in two groups and working a project. Just take attendance and tell them to continue with their projects. There should be plenty of discussions between them. Period 4 – “Class Title: They have homework to turn in. Please collect it. Their text book is on their Chromebooks. Have them look over pages 604-610. They must be prepared to give examples and/or defend the ones they chose. The entire purpose of this is to get them to engage in critical thinking and rational discourse on current issues that relate to basic human rights. Period 5 – “Class Title:
