  2. Keep in Mind,the focus is on . . . • Teacher Goal Setting and accountability • Collaboration with Principal for Professional Growth

Look at the Standards • Descriptions of Practice on pages 30-49 describe for the teacher and principal general descriptions ofwhat “practices” would constitute “Not Meeting Standard, Partially Meeting Standard, Meeting Standard, and Exemplifying Standard.” • This year: • ALL first year teacher will focus on Standards 1, 2, & 7 • ALL second year teachers will use Standards 3, 4 and 7 • ALL third plus teacher will use Standards 5, 6, & 7. *all on page 5 of the TEH

  4. What do I need to do? • First, every single teacher, annually, must submit their GOALS to their building administrator no later than September 30th. • To accomplish this, the TEH has several tools to assist the teacher.

  5. Annual Goal Tools/Forms • There is a Self Evaluation Survey on pages 6-10. Notice they align to the Standards we looked at earlier. • That will give you a basis for completing your goals on the Teacher Annual Goals forms located on page 11 – 17. • Finally, You must submit those goals to the building principal no later than September 30th for his/her review.

Bottom Line for Goals/Observations There is a timeline for your reference on pages 2-4 Bottom Line on Goals: -Submit these professional goals to the principal by September 30th: Those in Year 3+ in ACS: Standards 5, 6 and 7 Those in 2nd Year in ACS: Standards 2,3 and 7 Those in 1st Year in : Standard 1, 2, &7) Bottom Line on Observations: Your principal will schedule Pre-Observation conferences with those who need classroom observations this year when that time comes as outline on pages 18-52. Required Forms: PreObservation (p. 19), Description of Practice on corresponding Standards9 p 30-49, Observation Form (p 51) and Evaluation Form (p 52). Only the later two are turned into central office. Teachers who need a Professional Improvement Plan is also outlined on pages 53-59

  7. Follow Up Meeting for this presentation Principals must schedule a meeting prior to Sept 30 to go over this process. QUESTIONS?
