  4. Downloading and Installing the WAVE App From the Play Store Locate the app and tap Install Accept the permissions The app installs OPEN the app

Signing In • Select Enterprise as your user type and tap Next. • Tap the USERNAMEfield and type your WAVE account name. • Tap the PASSWORDfield and type your WAVE Connections password. • Tap the SERVER ADDRESS field and type the URL to your WAVE Server.Do not include “http://”. • Select Remember me on this device if you want the app to remember your log in details (username and password). • Tap the SIGN IN button.

  7. Log In Screens Note: You can only be logged into WAVE on one device at a time. Attempting to log in when you already logged in on another device will give the following error.

  9. Understanding Tabs (Basic Navigation) • GROUPS Tab Displays a list of all active talkgroups. • FEEDS Tab • Switches to feed view within the selected talkgroup. CONTACTS Tab Displays the users in the current user’s Address Book • RECENTS Tab • Displays the transmission history of WAVE users on all active talkgroups.

  10. Transmitting 1 2 Select a Talkgroup from the list. Push the Push to Talk button and start speaking when it begins to animate.Continue to hold the button down until you are done speaking, and then release the button. Note:You can only transmit on one talkgroup at a time. In case of listen-only talkgroups, “Listen Only” text appears in place of the PTT button.You cannot transmit on listen-only talkgroups. WAVE calls work the same as a P25 radio – only one user can transmit on the same talkgroup at one time . Other users on the talkgroup will be locked out of transmitting and will hear a call denial tone when attempting to call.

  11. Making a Private Call A Private Call is a private point-to-point connection between your WAVE Mobile Communicator and another user. 1 3 2 Private Calling MMR User 1

Selecting Talkgroups - 1 • When you first sign-in to WAVE, the first 16 talkgroups in the first Profile available to your account are activated in the Groups tab. • You can specify the Active talkgroups and WAVE will remember them across sessions. Up to 16 talkgroups can be active at a time in a profile.

  16. Selecting Talkgroups - 2 Tick the Talkgroups that you want up to the profile limit of 16. Note: You will need to deselect some talkgroups if you have already selected the maximum of 16 in order to be able to select more talkgroups from the available list.

Muting a Talkgroup • Each talkgroup can be muted independently of other Talkgroups. • Mute the volume of an individual talkgroup by tapping the loudspeaker button in the upper-right part of the screen. Tap the button again to unmute. • Talkgroups muted in one session remain muted when you sign back in using the same account. To mute tap either of the loudspeaker buttons in the upper-right part of the screen To unmute tap either of the loudspeaker buttons in the upper-right part of the screen 1 1 2 2 Note:WAVE Mobile Communicator remembers mute settings across sessions. Channels muted in one session remainsmuted when you sign back in.

Selecting Profiles Select the required profile from the list Profile Selection menu Note: The Profile Selection menu will NOT appear UNLESS you have multiple profiles enabled by the WAVE system administrator You will be prompted to restart WAVE to apply the new profile. New profile is displayed

  19. Minimizing WAVE To minimize WAVE,press the Home key.

  20. Signing Out of WAVE • To sign out of WAVE,tap on the Android Ellipsis Settings icon or Ellipsis • ( Android) at the top right of screen and thenSign Out.

  21. Selecting Mobile Broadband Versus WiFi Uses your data plan to transmit WAVE audio through your carrier's network Uses a WiFi router to transmit WAVE audio through the internet or local network

  22. Viewing Contacts Please Note Contacts lists are NOT Supported in WAVE provisioned under Cloud Connect.

  23. Viewing Group Members Members List displays users who have recently been transmitting in the talkgroup.

  24. Using Recents Recentsentries indicate: • the transmitting user name • the talkgroupused • the time passed sincethe transmission • the duration of the transmission

  25. Enabling Location Services in iOS To use WAVE location sharing you must enable location sharing in BOTH the WAVE app and in the device’s operating system (iOS and Android). In WAVE turn on Share Location and you should get a pop menu. Select Only While Using the App Locate and tap the Privacy menu item in Settings Locate and tap the Location Services menu item

  26. Sharing Location Settings • To share your location • Tap the Ellipsis button at the top of the screen. • Tap App Settings. • Tap Share Location. The time you specify indicates how frequently the application sends your GPS coordinates. The longer the time period, the less drain on your battery. Note: When you stop sharing your location, your map pin vanishes from all maps immediately.

  27. Using the Map • Your location – blue Accurate location – black (updated within last 5 minutes) Potentially inaccurate location – yellow (not updated within last 5 minutes)

  28. PTT Alert Settings Select PTT Calls from the App Settings Menu and choose your preferred settings for the given call type or error alert

  29. Notifications Use the check boxes to select which notifications you wish to receive.

  30. PTT Button Statuses • You can transmit. • You are currently transmitting. you are attempting to transmit but cannot.

  31. Additional Application Settings - 1 • Talk Group Selection. See Slide 10. • Audio Route Selection. Select from one of either Speakerphone or Earpiece • Additional Audio Gain. Increases volume but may increase distortion

Using a Bluetooth™ Headset Disclaimer: Due to alarge number of Bluetooth devices and differences in operating systems, it is impossible to guarantee the operation of any one specific Bluetooth headset. Actual behavior may vary across phones and headsets.Insome cases, buttons on a Bluetooth device may interact with the operating system or other applications. Audio may not flow between the application and the device. For best results, follow the instructions below and then test the device. Important: You must use the buttons in WAVE Mobile Communicator to transmit.

  33. Additional Application Settings - 2 • Map Type. Choices are per below. • Map Traffic Overlay. Select to see traffic data as coloured lines.

  34. Using Wired Earphones Microphone and button Important: Not all earphones work correctly with all devices. Ideally, your Android device came with microphone-enabled earphones. If not, then of-the-shelf wired earphones with a mic may work. It depends on your Android device. Note: The microphone button latches the transmit. Therefore it operates as a Push and then Talk and Push to Release instead of Push to Talk.

  35. Connection Lost While Not on a WAVE Call - 1 WAVE attempts to reconnect when a connection is lost WAVE automatically returns to the Group Contacts page when the connection is restored

  37. Attempting to Log In Without a Network Attempting to sign in without a connection pops up the No Network dialog
