  2. Discussion Question 1 • What is the son being warned about in verses 1-5?. How can we apply this warning to our own lives?

  3. Discussion Question 2 • Do you believe you are like the ant described in verses 6-8? Do you believe we, as a whole, are a culture of ants? How has this changed over the past 40 to 50 years?

  4. Discussion Question 3 • Define the word sluggard as it is used in verses 9-11. Why are so many people today guilty of being one?

  5. Discussion Question 4 • In verse 12 we find the phrase “A worthless person.” What is a worthless person in the eyes of God?

  6. Discussion Question 5 • What is important to note about the way a “wicked man” is described in verses 12-15? What do these verses tell us about being prepared when engaging a wicked person?

  7. Discussion Question 6 • What are your thoughts on the list of six things that God hates mentioned in this chapter? Which one of these six do you think we are most guilty of on a regular basis?

  8. Discussion Question 7 • Verse 26 contains a comparison between a prostitute and a married woman. What do you think this comparison is intended to teach us?

  9. Discussion Question 8 • There is a distinction made between the act of stealing and the act of adultery at the end of this chapter. What is this distinction? Do you agree with what it implies?
