Summary of Hunton • It started 126 yearsago as a small wood factory in Gjøvik. • Today Hunton are among the leading producers of soft boards in Europe. • Turnover 2015 approx. 381 mill NOK • 130 employees – which approx. 100 located in Gjøvik. • Main focus: Unique competence within production and use of construction solutions based on wood and wood fibre.

Production in Gjøvik – Environment- & energy aspects • Located right in Gjovik town with Hunnselva around us • Operating 24/7 with 5 shifts all year • Annual production of approximately 130,000 m3 fiberboard • Energy - intensive production (64 GWh / year ) • 2/3 thermal energy, (defibration and drying) • Prima energy

How ? • Energy - mapped throughout our operations in detail back to all electricity meters • Mapped energy important roles in Hunton • Pointed training • Established a baseline in relation to energy consumption • Annual energy program with goals / objectives • Management review / evaluation 2x / year

What has it given us so far? • Systematic work methodology with increased awareness of the organization • A good overview of all the equipment and what it consumes • Basis for energy optimization projects • 14 % reduction (10,7 GWh) of consumption during 2005-2015 • Improved profitability , greener profile , increased credibility • Increased competitiveness and better reputation

  8. Energy policy Hunton be by continuous improvements reduce energy consumption and hence improve competitiveness.

  9. Energy targets 2015 • Target 1 • Energy management must be an integral part of everyday life in Hunton Fiber AS • Target 2 • Hunton Fiber AS aims to reduce its energy consumption annually. Specific savings set annually in action list . The saving shall be calculated on the basis of specific energy consumption per kWh / m3.
