  5. STEP A List CLIP Learning Experiences 2009 1. Get into groups of 4-5 people. 2. Record all learning experiences that you have encountered or may encounter in CLIP 2009. 3. Once you are done, or time is up, have a team member present your list to the class. • You have X amount of time to complete the list within your group.

  21. How to use the Brain Storm Information to Choose your Newspaper Items • Use the information just collected to focus on what you will contribute to the CLIP Newspaper in the areas of: • artistic visual pieces • CLIP assignments/articles/position papers • reflective/emotive articles

  26. Examples of CLIP Work that You May use for the CLIP Newspaper Article • An article on a CLIP learning experience (STEP A list) • An article that is based on or was created for any CLIP assignment, other than a reflective paper (STEP B) • Social, political, religious, moral, ethical

  27. CLIP Work that You May use for the CLIP Newspaper Article • An article that is based on what you have read, saw, or created. (STEP B) • An article that is based on or was created for you CLIP IDP Initiative (STEP C). • An article on an issue related to what CLIP have read, seen, created or experienced (STEP D)

  28. CLIP Work that You May use for Reflective/Emotive Articles • CLIP journal • Food log • CLIP assignments in which you were asked to reflect on something or express your feelings about something.

  29. CLIP Newspaper Executed through Co-operative Learning • Create a group of 4-5 students: • There will be: three groups of 5 • two groups of 4

  30. CLIP Newspaper Executed through Co-operative Learning In choosing your group keep the following in mind: Each group is expected to produce • An artistic visual piece per person in the group • A position paper per person in the group • A reflective/emotive article per person

CLIP Newspaper Executed through Co-operative Learning • Each Group of 5 Students produce: 3 artistic visual pieces 3 position articles 3 reflective/emotive articles for a total of nine items • Each Group of 4 Students produce: 2 artistic visual pieces 2 position papers 2 reflective/emotive articles, plus any other two items ( for a total of six items)

CLIP Newspaper Executed through Co-operative Learning • Items to keep in mind about the group responsibilities: • Not every member of the group needs to create: artistic visual piece issue position paper reflective/emotive article • Your group decides how many and what type of work each group member is to create

  36. CLIP Newspaper Assessment Academic Individual Mark • Two of your completed pieces of work. Social Individual Mark 1. Expected completion time-lines met. 2. Reflective paper on what leadership skills you improved on during the newspaper completion and how you improved and displayed leadership skills during the process.

  37. CLIP Newspaper Editorial Staff 1. Each group is to choose a person to represent their group on the editorial staff.

  38. CLIP Newspaper Editorial Staff • Editorial Staff is to consist of: • Editor in Chief: Over-all leader • Editor: edit/proofread • Illustrator: edit/proofread artistic items • Layout Design Chief: layout the newspaper • Printing Press Chief: print the newspaper and place on web site

  39. CLIP Newspaper Editorial Staff Include the following in the newspaper: • Front Page • At least 4 long articles • At least 3 items on Native Issues
