Why Focus on Certain Teachers? • Students also cannot be expected to balance on that liminal ledge • Need expert teacher leaders who are willing to help create a relevant experience for them • Teachers need to come in with expertise in their content area • Focusing on non-Hawaiian language and non-Hawaiian culture teachers so that every content area can see that their kuleana is to connect standard curriculum to them
