  2. 8.1 遠程登錄的意義 • 透過終端機模擬通訊協定，只要遠端主機提供有TELNET的連接服務，本地的個人電腦就可模擬成遠端主機的終端機。

  4. 8.3 電子公布欄（BBS） • 電子公布欄（Bullet Board System，BBS） • 使用者可以透過一個開放的方式，來達成意見溝通與互相交流的目的。 • 在Internet流行前，BBS站建立在個人電腦上，且受到門號的限制，同時連線的數量也因而有限，造成佔線問題嚴重。 • 在Internet興起後，BBS建構在以遠端登入為基礎的系統，所以使用者只要能利用本地的ISP上網，且不限於地區使用者，就能連到全世界。
