Research Executive Agency (REA) REA created 14 Dec. 2007 and operating since June 2009 Now around 550 staff - Director Gilbert Gascard The REA implements several FP7 actions: SME-specific actions (Capacities) Marie Curie actions (People) Security and Space actions (Cooperation) The REA provides horizontal services across all programmes: Runs the evaluation facility (reception of proposals and support to evaluation) Provides administrative services for registration of beneficiaries (central validation) Runs a central FP7 enquiry service

The REA Space Research Unitis in charge of Organising the evaluation of proposals Negotiationof retained proposals Scientific, legal and administrative project follow-up Payments and audit implementation. Policy work remains within the Commission which includes the definition of the Space Work Programme DG ENTR (G): Director: Philippe Brunet Head of Unit: Mauro Facchini Total Space budget € 1.43 Billion Space Research
