  2. The County of South Savo • 148 975 inhabitants • 14 municipalities: • 1. Mikkeli 54 517 • 14. Enonkoski 1 453 • The Regional Council of South Savo is a public authority responsible for the general development of the region of South Savo.

  3. The Project of Cultural Well-Being in South Savo: • Aims for a recognised role for arts and culture in regional strategic planning and programme development by: • Creating a regional plan for cultural well-being together with various institutions • Financing pilot projects • Creating and boosting networks • Is financed by the Ministry of Education and Culture, and managed by the Arts Promoting Centre Finland • Part of the ministry´s key project ”Expanding the procent for art scheme” • Strenghtens the role of culture and cultural well-being in the ongoing health, social services and regional government reform.

  4. Regional Plan for Cultural Well-Being • The goal is to secure cultural rights for all South Savo inhabitants • The plan is created in collaboration with the representatives of • local municipalities • social and health care • private associations • companies • educational institutions • state organizations • artists Togetherweare … • Mapping and finding out the current situation of services and existing service paths in the region • Creating a vision for 2030 • Defining proposals for necessary actions • Sharing the responsibility of producing and financing the services

  5. Creating Process of the Regional Plan • The regional plan is created in various work groups: steering group, piloting group and six theme groups: • 1. Childhood, adolescence and young adulthood (0-24 years) • 2. Working-age adulthood (25-64 years) • 3. Older adulthood (over 64 years), aging and the end of life • 4. Need for specific support to participate in the arts and culture • 5. Cultural environment and public art • 6. Education and research • Open theme-based workshops • Visits in the municipalities of South Savo
