  3. Application– What will they do with what you taught TODAY? Part Three of the Lesson

  4. What the Application is NOT… • Not the “Test” • Not a “Field Trip” • Not something they will do on another day

  5. What the Application IS…. • The MOST important part of your lesson • Provides and opportunity for students to practice/apply what you taught today • An activity, project, worksheet, assignment • That specifically reinforces the concepts or content taught THAT DAY • Examples? Refer to Back of Bloom’s Taxonomy Handout

  6. Evaluation and Summary of Learning Part Four of the Lesson

  7. Two Goals of Part Four • Evaluateattainment of objectives (oral questions, short quiz, etc.) • Summarize what we did today (tell students what we did again and why it is important to learn)

Evaluate LearningSummarize the Lesson of the Day • Done through review of objectives • Oral Questions, Quiz, Game, etc. concerning the material taught (objectives) • Did they really learn what you taught today? • Summarizing statement of importance for the day’s lesson • Lead into the next day’s lesson/activity • Examples?

Your Assignment! • Finish the Lesson Plan (Must use the TEMPLATE, Typed!) • All Four Parts plus Identification (Including Specific TEKS), Objectives, Teaching Materials, and References • Include 2 Emoments! (from book you should have purchased-last Friday’s lesson) • Discussion paper (refer to syllabus for information to include) • Feedback is available if you get it to us in advance!!! • Include or Attach ALL materials needed to teach the lesson! (Could Harlin or Hambleton pick it up and teach it?) • Will be evaluated using the Lesson Plan Evaluation • Due on Monday, February 17th, posted to your website

Your ULTIMATE Assignment! • Coordinate with an AGSC teacher • Prepare the lesson plan • Receive feedback from your instructors • Teach the lesson to your classmates • Receive feedback from the AGSC teacher • Teach the lesson to REAL AGSC students • Have the teacher evaluate you using our form • Reflect on the experience in a paper • Turn in your evaluation from the teacher and your reflection paper! • Refer to the Course Calendar Webpage for dates

Friday Preview…. • Effective Teacher Paper Re-write Due • Take the feedback provided and rewrite your paper • Turn in as a hard copy—new paper with old grading rubric • We will be discussing: • Creating a PowerPoint or Prezi to accompany your lesson • Explaining the Mini-Skill Demonstrations for next Friday’s lab • Working on your lesson plan with help available
