  3. Printing a note in the EHR Choose the note you wish to print Go to the File drop-down menu and choose print

  4. Printing a note (cont) Dialog appears letting you pick either a Windows printer or a RPMS printer Depending on how the parameters were setup, you can print chart and/or work copies

  5. Printing Orders From the Order Entry Configuration Option Menu, choose: PRN Print/Report Parameters... CHT Chart Copy Parameters HOS Print Parameters for Hospital LOC Print Parameters for Wards/Clinics REQ Requisition/Label Parameters SUM Summary Report Parameters SVC Service Copy Parameters WRK Work Copy Parameters

Printing Chart Copies • Chart copies of orders may be required at your site Chart Copy Definition for System: demo.ciainformatics.com ----------------------------------------------------------------- Chart Copy Format CHART COPY 2 Chart Copy Header CHART COPY HEADER Chart Copy Footer CHART COPY FOOTER Expand Continuous Orders Print Chart Copy When releasing order Prompt for Chart Copy DON'T PROMPT ----------------------------------------------------------------- Prompt is whether or not providers will be asked the name of the printer for the chart copies.

  7. Printing Work Copies • Work copies may be desired instead of chart copies. This may be chosen if a summary is to be printed at the end of the day. Printing Summaries • Summaries may be printed at the end of the day Summary Report Definition for System: demo.ciainformatics.com -------------------------------------------------------------- Chart Copy Summary Sort Forward  A yes will print these in forward dates not backwards Work Copy Summary Sort Forward (same as above) Print 'NO ORDERS' on summary YES  No skips pts with no orders Condensed Order Summary NO  Each pt has own page Print All orders on Chart Summary PREVIOUSLY PRINTED --------------------------------------------------------------

  13. Order Summaries • Two choices, different formats • Both need to be setup in Taskman ORTASK 24HR SUMMARY OR TASK 24HR CHART COPIES

  14. To Print, or not to Print? • Each site needs to decide if chart copies, work copies, or order summaries are desired • Sites may decide none of these are needed • Requisitions and labels usually are needed • There are various opinions about whether Service Copies are needed
