  1. UC Berkeley CS160 Spring 2014 User Interface Design Gym Scribe Opal Kale Derrick Mar Steve Pham Ziran Shang Will Tang Hands free workout logging Problem Logging workout information is a great way to track fitness and stay in shape, but notebooks and existing apps require time and contact with grimy hands. Target User People who workout regularly and record their workout information Solution Gym Scribe provides the user with a hands free interface for recording workout sets and reps. In addition to entering logs through touchscreen input, the user may also create logs by speaking rep counts and weight values for a given workout. The navigation drawer is opened by either the upper left bar button, or by swiping from the left. Workout history is shown as a chart of weight x reps over time Design Evolution Our initial mockups had a more cluttered interface with manual input and sound input occupying the same space, and a tab bar for navigation. Through our redesign iterations, we opted for a more space-friendly navigation drawer, as well as hideaway manual input fields. Final Prototype Our final prototype features database storage for logs, functioning calendar and graph representations of logs, and functioning voice activated logging. The recording interface displays the logs for a given workout from the current day. Pressing the “record” button activates the voice recording. Pressing the “Log a Set” button reveals the manual input interface. Selecting a workout from this page opens up the recording interface
