  2. Student life is the best time to discover who you are, not only professionally, but personally. It is the time to take chances, to explore all kinds of activities, to think and act outside of the box. By allowing yourself the freedom to explore, you not only discover what you like but what you don’t like as well. By doing so, you have a strong basis for choosing career paths, friends and direction in life.

  3. Alison Loweis an example of a young person who has tried many different things. It not only helped her focus on life’s direction but also made her a better person. Of course it is important to study. But academics need to be balanced with community, social, cultural and personal life. Alison is currently in a Ph.D. program for clinical psychology. These extra experiences not only enrich her own life, they contribute to the betterment of society and will help make her a better psychologist and human being.

  4. Passion for research: Alison not only loves learning but she enjoys contributing to the body of knowledge in her chosen field of psychology. She has participated in many research projects as a subject as well as being a Research Assistant for severable projects as the University of British Columbia. Proving herself as a capable assistant gave Alison the opportunity for larger areas of responsibility including applied developmental psychology and clinical child psychology.

  5. Passion to serve: Alison Lowe’s strong interest in people’s well-being is not only of the mental, but the physical and for persons at all stages of life. She has taught Sunday School and been camp counselor for students. At the other end of the age spectrum,

  6. Alison has volunteered in the Geriatrics Ward of Mt. St. Joseph’s Hospital and organized a youth tribute to Chinese WWII Veterans for the Government of Canada. In Oregon, Mexico and Vietnam, she volunteered as a dental and medical assistant. As the youngest person on these teams, she offered enthusiasm and energy along with a willing heart. She also coordinated as well as cofounded the Sharing Hands Community Kitchen which served women with psychological and health issues.

  7. Music : Alison received piano and violin lessons when she was young, developing a strong interest in music. She is a self-taught drummer and plays in concerts, special events and church services.
