  1. Are you a professional who has worked under a professional engineer or geoscientist but without a bachelor’s level degree? If yes, then you should apply to become an APEGS Geoscience/Engineering licensee. Now, you must be wondering what it is. To know it read the whole blog. What is APEGS Geoscience/Engineering Licensee? As mentioned above, if you have professional experience in geoscience or engineering that was under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer or geoscientist in Canada, but don’t have a bachelor’s level education in geoscience or engineering, you are eligible for applying as an Engineering Licensee or Geoscience Licensee. In case of already being registered as an Engineering Licensee, Geoscience Licensee, Professional Licensee, Professional Technologist (or anything equivalent) somewhere in Canada, apply through Inter-Association Mobility.

How to apply: The first thing you need to do is to create an account in APEGS Central (or Log in if already have one). · If having previously applied to APEGS as a geoscientist-in-training or engineering-in training, you should use the paper application form (it will reduce your application fee). Hire an APEGS Geoscience/Engineering Licensee competency report expert to know about payment options. · After that, complete all information in the ‘Apply Now section. · Finally, you have to send all the necessary documents to APEGS. Required documents for geoscience/engineering licensee application: The below-given documents are necessary when you apply as a geoscience /engineering Licensee: Required documents: 1. If your education is out of Canada, you need to require an ICAP course-by- course credential assessment from World Education Services (WES). If your education is within Canada, you will require transcripts issued to APEGS straight by the institution from which you graduated.

  4. Probation: You will get notifications in writing if APEGS needs you to take up to a one-year probation period. You will need to submit work experience for your probationary period. It is also necessary for you to submit six-month work experience reports in that year. You may apply to attend the Law and Ethics Seminar. Besides that, you can also apply to write the Professional Practice Exam (PPE) during the probation year. Approval: . When you pass the Professional Practice Exam and complete the probation period, you will have your application approved. After that, you will get an email with an invoice for your yearly registration fees. · When you have paid the annual fees, you will get a certificate in your mail and an electronic image of your Professional Seal by mail. If you asked for a physical stamp, it will be delivered within a couple of months (or a little longer if you are out of Canada). After paying your annual fees, you can use the appropriate title (Geoscience/Engineering Licensee), and stamp and seal drawings.
