Interesting Facts • Californium is named after the University of California-Berkeley • Uranium was used in the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki • Samarium is used in today’s headphones • Plutonium is also used in deadly bombs • When mixed with other elements, Lanthanum is used in flint for lighters
