  1. Warm - Up • -9 – 3(2n – 1) = -18

  2. Algebra I – Chapter 3 3.4 – Using equations to solve problems 3.5 - Equations with variables on both sides

  3. Problem #1 • The longest side of a triangle is twice as long as the shortest side and the remaining side is 25 cm. If the perimeter is 70 cm, find the lengths of the sides of the triangle.

  4. Problem #2 • Chandra has twice as much money as Nora. Nora has $6 less than Lian. Together they have $54. How much money does each have?

  5. Equations with variables on both sides: • 6x = 4x + 18

  6. 2(g – 2) – 4 = 2(g – 3)

  7. Types of Answers: • The equation will have either: • One solution ( x = 8) • No solution (8 = 4) • Infinite solutions (Identity) x = x

  8. A word problem: • The greater of two consecutive even integers is 20 more than twice the smaller. Find the integers.

  9. Tonight’s Homework: Page 113/114 (9,15,19,27) Page 118 (13 -43 odd) Quiz –sections 3.1-3.3 next class
