  2. Objectives • Identify how writing to learn strategies relate to instructional best practices across the curriculum. • Identify implications for instructional use and best practices in writing.

  3. Writing to Learn Activity Drawing and Illustrating What it is: Students make visual representations of what they read in order to help themselves and others understand. When and Why: Re-stating ideas helps us be reflective, self monitor and notice more. In Action: Quick sketches done while reading are used to contribute to the class discussion.
