The internationalisation challenge • Support for international students – CS role in income generation • Engagement with alumni • Support for home students to study / work abroad • Motivate to try • Find relevant opps • Prepare to apply • Maximise time abroad • Encourage reflection and articulation on return

  3. Types of opportunity • Formal programmes (ERASMUS, IAESTE, Fulbright, Saltire) • Study abroad v work experience • Career related or general (BUNAC etc) • Short or long term • Volunteering v paid work

  4. Range of activity across Scotland • Most universities – Going Global, International C Ad • Some universities – Skills Award • Examples of innovation: • Dundee Uni CS - International Internship • Napier Uni CS – Graduate Employability Project

  5. The value of international experience Your skills and experience are only as good as your ability to articulate them
