  1. How to Make a GRRREAT Science Fair Presentation

  2. Wanna buy a used car?? Your presentation must: • First – attract attention • Second – SELL your project

  3. Follow the Formula • Use a tri-fold board • Put your title front and center • Include all the components on the board • Hypothesis • Materials and procedure • Data • Results • Conclusion

  4. Selling your Story Choose readable fonts, contrasting colors and clear graphics

  5. Make it easy on your audienceto ‘read’ your story This is a good place for materials and procedure You can include diagrams and pictures that demonstrate what you did Hypothesisgoes below title Put your results here – a cool graph! And then your conclusion You can put your raw datahere Also, your abstract or a brief discussion about the experiment itself can be put here E.g. I found that my first three models didn’t yield the results I wanted and came up with a number of ideas to test but was limited on time.

  6. What Goes “Down in Front”? The space in front of your display board can be used to hold any related experimental items – • The wind generator you made • The trial samples you created, • The labware you used, etc. The items should provide interest and information! Also, in the space you can put your background paper and/or abstract

  7. Citations No one goes it alone! You used the work of others, in some way, to complete your project. Be sure to give them credit! You can make a text box with citations to place on your display board. Or be sure they are included in your background paper. Someplace, give credit to those whose work you used! Need help with format? Go to: www.citationmachine.net/

  8. Here are some Hints • Your display is a SCIENCE project, not an art project – make it neat • Use one font throughout – you can change the size or style, but stick to one readable font – Verdana, Comic sans, Times New Roman, Arial etc. • Choose a color scheme and stick to it – no more than three colors. Think one main color (background), an analogous color and a complementary color.
