  3. Triggers • Things that set you off and bother you. • How much affect do triggers have on you? • When you get angry, what do you do?

  4. Categories of Behavior • Destroyer • Screamer • Avenger • Avoider

  5. Destroyer • Behavior responses • Throws things, fights and hits • Self hurter • Destroyer of things or people • They hold in energy until they are ready to explode and then are done after they get rid of the energy

  6. Screamer • Behavior responses • Will not listen to anyone • Very articulate • Will use what you say against you • Uses volume to get point across • Will save some energy for later • Always must have the last word

  7. Avenger • Behavior Responses • Never shows anger, will get you back • Plots against the person, good at setting something up to get the person • Anger energy is used to plan and will only share information with select people

  8. Avoider • Behavior responses • Doesn’t know how and doesn’t want to deal with anger • Stuffs angry feelings in until they blow, then they feel bad and then draw it back in and continue to stuff in feelings

  9. Anger styles • Which anger style are you? • Which do you usually use most often? • Who do you know that is similar to your style?

  10. Anger styles-learned behaviors • Positive ways to use anger styles to get rid of anger • Think of what happens most often • Must be techniques that can be safe and practical for the situation • Know your boiling point – where your level is.
