Mission Statement, Strategic Plan 2018 & 2019 Goals Strategic Plan • Organize Under One: Advisory Board, Executive Board, Bylaws, Rules & Regulations, Tech Platform, Non-profit • Provide Competitive National Structure for Adult Teams of Various Levels and Surfaces • Support Local Field Hockey Communities 2019 Goals • Develop Competitive Structures Roadmap to Execute in 2020 • Outdoor, Indoor, College • Utilize Tech Platform to Support Local Communities • Website, Marketing-Campaign, • Mini-Communities, Social Media • Execute on Liaison Partnership Plans with Field Hockey Organizations • Diversify Income Streams & Triple Fundraising • Support Local Communities Fundraising Mission Statement: Grow Participation and Engagement of Adult Field Hockey in the United States Review 2018 Goals • Improve quality and grow size of 2018 Nationals • Tech- Website Functionality, Social Media Presence • Connecting and Strengthening Advisory Board • Strengthen Network • Rotating Social Co-Ed Fundraising Tournament

Larger Regionals, Smaller Nationals • The Basics: • USFHL sanctioned teams/leagues are placed in one of seven regions • Local area/league champions participate in 6-8 team regional tournament • Winner of the regional tournament goes to Nationals • Nationals = 8 teams -> Winner of each region + defending champion • As we grow, tiering/relagation happens at regionals, not nationals • Pros: • More teams can compete in the pathway to Nationals • Shorter travel distance for special regional tournament • Easy to scale in the future as more teams/leagues join • Cons: • More travel for the winning team (Regionals AND Nationals) • May struggle to keep Nationals competitive if certain regions are weaker • Need to organize multiple Regional tournaments • Timing of Regionals for teams that need to travel far for Nationals

Proposal #2- Application Process • Applications from Leagues, Associations, Teams deadline in August • Sanctioned Leagues & Associations will be announced in Sept • Large Nationals because no teams eliminated at Regionals • As many as 16 Women’s teams & 8 Men’s teams • Tiering use 2019 results with possible wild card play-in spots Existing League for Small Geography - NEFHA Teams: Greenwich FHC Westchester FHC New York Islanders FHC Rye FHC Big Apple FHC Wildcats New York City FHC Team Phun East Coast High Performance Sample distance from Greenwich to southern most tip of Staten Island – c.50 Miles

  7. Potential Developmental League for Large Geography Teams: NC, FL & GA Travel Distance: Miami – Raleigh 801 Miles Travel Distance: Miami – Atlanta 663 Miles Travel Distance: Atlanta – Raleigh 407 Miles

Indoor Structure Proposal • Three Options • Completely Partner with USA FH • Partially Partner with USA FH • “Go Your Own Way” • For 2020 proposing #2 Partial Partnership • Use existing or new adult only indoor tournaments as NITqs • 2020 National Indoor Champions are winner of teams who competed at NITqs • Challenges • Fill out teams for NITqs and NITs  Go from 14 teams to 24 at NITs • Rules for Rosters • Timeline • March- USA FH liaisons meet with USA • Discuss 2020 structure & confirm cost for adult teams will not go up • Less Late Games & Earlier Championship • Friday 2 games, Saturday 2 games, Sunday 1 game • Umpiring for Championship Games • April- Organize NITqs and Teams Interested • Sept- Registration for NITqs • Jan/Feb- NITqs & NITs

Other 2019 Initiatives • College Structure • Goal: Introduce college athletes to adult field hockey in the US to prevent the drop-off in participation after they graduate • Safe and organized opportunities for NCAA and College Club Athletes to play in the summer • Support through Marketing Campaign, Liaison Relationships, Website/Social Media • Pilot in 2019 • Networking/Knowledge sharing mini-communities • Categories • Tournament Matching Athletes & Teams • Leaders, Administrators, Organizers of Adult Field Hockey • Examples: Securing Umpires, Facilities, Vendors/Corp Sponsors, Advice to start indoor, website • Astroturf • Social Tournament

  10. 2019 Nationals Update • July 12-14 @ University of Delaware • Two Water Pitches Side by Side • 12 Womens Teams & 8 Mens Teams • Seeding/Pools based on results from last year • Changes from Last Year • Tiering in 2019 for Women Discussion • 8thMens Team, 12th Women’s team • Semis & Finals • Women- 12 team: top two from pools can still be champions vs. last year had to finish top of pool • Timeline • March- Open registration to previous sanctioned who competed • April- Open registration to new sanctioned communities • May- Payment Due & Schedule Released • June 15- Rosters

Rules and Arbitration 2019 Rules- All Captains must sign-off Arbitration Process • Step 1 – Bring issue to your association/regional rep, unless involved, and their decision made public • Step 2 – If those involved are unhappy with rep’s decision case is referred to Executive Board • Executive Board assigns one unbiased member to review case , decision published • Step 3 – If parties want to appeal decision from step 2 it opens to full executive board for vote, decision made public • Deadlines for availability of these steps • Within 1 month of Nationals all cases must skip directly to step 2 • Within 2 weeks of nationals there is no step 3. The decisions of any executive board member assigned to a case are final *Community is defined as the league, association, or region that qualified to submit a team to Nationals. Sanctioned Community has three teams (Same Rosters) that play each other over the span of more than a week
