  2. What is it? • An electronic device that uses wireless radio waves to communicate with a scanner • It is used most often in terms of identification

  3. How can it be used in Robo-Link? • It can help keep inventory through the use of “smart shelves” • It can be used as a substitute as a key, a RFID chip can be put in the employee ID

  4. What are the Drawbacks? • With the implementation of RFID technology there may be a tendency for companies to track their employees

  5. What are the costs involved? • RFID technology is a very cheap technology • Hardware has been designed to be the most cost efficient

  6. RFID in robots? • RFID can me implemented in automated systems produced by Robo-link • These systems could include • Systems in hospitals to track medicine usage • Transportation systems to track shipments

  7. Better security? • A key can be copied easily • A RFID chip is not as prone to attacks • An employee will be able to use their employee ID as a personalised keychain allowing and denying access to areas they are allowed.
